Nellie if you were gay I'd date you

I couldn't be more excited to see Nellie Mckay in a few weeks in minneapolis! I've been a big fan for awhile but have never gotten the opportunity to see her. Her witty lyrics, sense of humor and playful tunes always make me smile. She's so darn adorable too!

Decorations!

When I was home in Iowa over Thanksgiving I helped my mom sort through a bunch of old Christmas decorations she had. We discovered some really old ornaments my mom made back in the day when my parents were first married. I came to realize what a craft whore my mom was. She had between 5-10 half finished cross stitched projects. Most of them went in the trash (sadly) or to Goodwill but I was so excited to find some ornaments she made. I decided to theme my tree this year with my mom's amazingly kitsch crafts and added a few of my own touches you'll notice! :) Happy Holidays everyone!

Recent Hair Color/Cuts

My friend Alex had a picture of a mullet she wanted her hair to look like. Alex's hair wasn't long enough to match the image so we cut it into a shorter version of the cut. I did the color and cut.

This is Erika. I did a slightly graduated cut and a highlight.

Meet Stephanie! Cut and Peek-a-boo color

Good Hair

I saw this documentary a week ago. In all honesty, I was slightly disappointed with it as a whole. As Chris Rock ventures from the Bronner Brothers hair show in Atlanta Georgia all the way to India (where some of the finest hair is collected) he sets the premise of his movie around his 2 daughters with concern for their well-being and future hair desires. I give the film a 4 on a scale from 1-10 mostly because I was expecting more humor and the content could have been a little more interesting. Still worth seeing none-the-less.

Two ideas I've been pondering.
1. a tattoo (ongoing for practically 2 years now)
2. a new do

I've beein trying to grow my hair out and am still in contemplation but it's currently going through that awkward phase and i need a change. We'll see.

I stumbled upon some crazy nails and since I work for a packaging firm I thought these were just out of control. I have a hard time getting into nails. Not that I don't appreciate the talent of people that can do really great acrylic or fiberglass or anything of the sort, it's just not my style. Gotta give props to these though... hilarious. ridiculous. and awesome all at the same time.

PROJECT DAY!!

Alright,. This project has been on my list of things to do for over a month and today it was finally completed! My wall mural includes b/w photos, old wall paper found at an estate sale, posters from Europe and my very own homemade baby shadow box. This project cost me a grand total of approximately $40.00. Mat board was purchased on sale at hobby lobby for 16 bucks (4 large sheets), Glass cut for open frames cost me $18.00 and the frames were either given to me or purchased at thrift stores for nearly a dollar. I cut my own mat board windows with a 45 degree angle mat board cutter someone from my work let me borrow.
Here are some photos and below are some wallpaper scraps I got at an estate sale awhile back.
