Cosmetology!!

So i did it! I decided to finally get the education I know i need to be able to do hair professionally with confidence! I signed up for Regency Institute and have been taking part time classes for a few weeks now. I've learned a lot so far including trichology (the technical stuff about hair), old school pin curls, fingerwaves, and roller sets, and little secret about hair products. My first day of class i was equipt with well over a 1,000 bucks worth of appliances and products. It was like an early christmas present. My favorite part was the new pair of scissors. (my current pair is well overdue for a sharpening). I immediately gave my friend Rachel a cut and my new roommate Abby a trim as well. I'm lucky to have friends that let me practice on them!!
Anyway, my class is small.. only 5 people, but we all get along really well and I know it'll be an awesome year and 1/2 with them. Once the textbook portion of the class is done, I'll be getting models and starting up a clientel base which I'm most excited about.
I actually signed up for hair school right when i was getting bogged down at my design job, but things at Baker have actually been looking more promising. Who knows what my future will entail with this new endeavor.... but I'm getting the best of both worlds and loving every step of the way.

craft time in my new place!

I discovered a great store on University called 50's 60's 70's store. I found it about 5 months ago, and it's been my weakness ever since. I bought this lamp there last night:

I also decided to cover some old pillows with new fabric:

Moleskine exchange project

I started a moleskine exchange project with some other fellow artists. The catch is, you do a few pages worth of arting, then mail your book to the next person in the group, they add on, send it to another person....and the book eventually gets back to you (full of goodies). I did my first entry last month:
